October 2005 Fortnight of Action - Action ReportsMarv race red cardAs part of the Show Racism the Red Card Fortnight of Action, October 13-27, Marvin Andrews was first in line to lend his support. The centre, located in Argyle House in the Govan Stand at Ibrox, hosted a group of children from St Stephen's Primary in Sighthill. And big Marv held a question-and-answer session as he helped drive home the Show Racism The Red Card message. Andrews said: "As a black person in this country, I was delighted to help support this initiative. Racism is one of the things destroying the world today. "It is getting into our schools and the fabric of our society. People are suffering and dying because of racism. "All over the world, the devil is causing havoc with racism. That is why it was so important for me to come along and support this day because these kids are our future. "If they think racism is okay, they will follow suit. That is why I am delighted Rangers have taken this initiative and done something positive to try and drive racism out of Scottish football." Study Centre manager Dominic Sharkey reckons the presence of the Ibrox hero helped maximise the impact of the initiative's message, saying: "Through Marvin's presence and support, the anti-racism message has been really driven home."
